Apple exited the Russian market a few months ago and has no plans to resume operations in the country.
And, beginning Monday, some homegrown apps, including VKontakte, a Russian alternative to Facebook, has been removed from the official App Store.

Other apps from the same developer that have been removed by Apple include Mail.ru, VK Music, and Youla.
Users who have already downloaded these apps will be able to use them as usual, but notifications and payments may be affected. VKontakte is still accessible via desktop and mobile browsers.
Apple has issued a statement explaining the reason for the ban, which is related to referendums held in some parts of Ukraine. The UK government has responded to the referendums by imposing new sanctions on Russian oligarchs and executives from state-owned enterprises. Because some of these executives are from VK, Apple is following international law by suspending the developer account behind VKontakte, Mail.ru, and VK Music.
