On October 4, the Xiaomi 12T series will be released. Before the major announcement, CEO Lei Jun confirmed on Twitter that the main camera will have a 200MP sensor, which is a significant improvement over the 12S series.
According to the most recent reports, we anticipate that only the Xiaomi 12T Pro will receive the enormous sensor, with the normal Xiaomi 12T having to make due with a 108MP main camera.
Samsung’s HP1 sensor, a 1/1.22″ imager with an f/1.69 aperture, Phase Detection Auto-focus (PDAF), and optical image stabilization, is said to be used by the Xiaomi 12T Pro (OIS). Depending on your requirements, the HP1 sensor offers 16-1 pixel binning in resolutions ranging from 12.5MP stills with a 2.56mm pixel pitch to 50MP stills (1.28mm pixels) or natively at 200MP (0.64mm pixels).
Hardware used to be our main focus. In recent years, we moved into the next phase of our strategy, which aims to deeply integrate software and hardware for a better experience. Only with deep integration can Xiaomi achieve new breakthroughs. pic.twitter.com/3pBErqA3QS

The same 200MP sensor is used in the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, it delivers excellent detail and colour in both day and night shots. Other rumored Xiaomi 12T series specifications include 6.67″ AMOLED displays with 1,220 x 2,712px resolution, 5,000mAh batteries with 120W fast charging, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset for the 12T Pro, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 for the Xiaomi 12T.
