Fans of “Grand Theft Auto” are having a memorable weekend thanks to the leak of 90 videos of gameplay and other footage from the upcoming “Grand Theft Auto 6.” (via PC Gamer). They’re now going insane over the leaked “GTA 6” videos, poring over them for clues on what the highly anticipated next installment in the “GTA” franchise will be like.
The videos, apparently legitimate, seem to line up with previous reports and leaks regarding the content of “GTA 6.” In addition to showing what you can expect from gameplay and cutscenes in the game, the leaked videos also confirm precisely where all the hours upon hours of free-roaming crime and mayhem are going to be set within the expansive “GTA” universe.
GTA 6 leaked Video Surfaced the Internet
It’s good news for fans of a previous installment in the “GTA” series who hoped to explore one of its pre-existing settings in a new, advanced environment. But, with the game still at least two years away, it will be some time before you can return to this classic “GTA” location for yourself. So, where will gamers return in “GTA 6?”
There are a lot of interesting tidbits in the videos, but The Verge noticed a character taking the good old dependable Vice City Metro, which is an explicit confirmation that “Grand Theft Auto 6” will take place in the fictionalised, Miami-like Vice City, which players of “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” from 2002 will be familiar with.
It appears that a return to Vice City is on the horizon as Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier confirmed the validity of the stolen content via a source at Rockstar Games on Twitter. As part of the “GTA” franchise’s efforts to straighten up and showcase a more socially aware version of the iconic crime game series, the leaks also depict a playable female character. This information is consistent with earlier rumours that the next game will have protagonists who are modelled after bank robbers and folk heroes from the Great Depression, Bonnie and Clyde.
The person responsible for the leaks, a GTA Forums user going by the handle teapotuberhacker, has hinted that they may “release more data soon,” so it’s possible that “GTA 6” fans may soon get even more sneak peeks.
