Findings of charging test performed on the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro Max

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max

The iPhone 14 series made its global premiere earlier this month, and they are now available in retailers all over the world. As usual, Apple didn’t include a charging adapter with the device and made no mention of the charging rates.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max have reportedly been tested using a range of Apple power adapters by the Chinese website Chongdiantou. This test provides important details about the phones’ charging rates and recommends the charger that is best for quick charging.

According to the findings, the iPhone 14 Pro Max was charged at a speed of up to 27W by all Apple adapters rated at 29W or higher. The iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro should continue to charge at the same rates. As a result, the 30W USB-C power adapter from Apple will be the ideal charging partner for the most recent iPhone models.

Because Apple withholds information about the fast charging speed its most recent iPhones support, we frequently observe individual experiments being conducted to ascertain these specifics. To determine the charging rates the phones support, the Chinese website Chongdiantou examined a range of Apple power adapters. The iPhone 14 Pro Max was able to charge at a speed of 26W/27W with Apple’s 30W USB-C power adapter. The iPhone 14 charges similarly at a 25W rate.

The cheapest charger offered by the company is capable of charging the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max at their respective maximum supported charging rates of 25W and 27W. According to Chongdiantou, using Apple’s older 29W power adaptor, the iPhone 14 Pro Max was able to momentarily reach a peak charging speed of almost 29W. This 12-inch MacBook adapter’s production was halted in June 2018.

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max, in contrast, have respective charging speeds of 23W and 27W. This indicates that the iPhone 14 models’ Lighting charging times are essentially the same. We are optimistic that the USB-C iPhone 15 models will significantly improve charging.
